What is the difference between the StarCruises and Dream Cruises brands?

We’ve introduced two distinct brands under StarDream Cruises to better serve a diverse range of travellers across the region: 


StarCruises:

  • Affordable, yet premium lifestyle cruising
  • Vibrant onboard entertainment, world-class dining, and themed experiences.
  • Mid-sized ships (about 2,000 passengers) offering more intimate and accessible voyages.
  • Short, port-intensive itineraries, ideal for domestic and Fly-Cruise passengers.


Dream Cruises:

  • A sophisticated, indulgent onboard experience.
  • Larger ships with over 3,000 passenger capacity.
  • Luxury Fly-Cruise itineraries for modern explorers, with vibrant entertainment and world-class dining.

Where are StarDream Cruises' affiliates and representatives located?

  • StarDream Cruises is headquartered in Singapore with affiliates / representatives currently in Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Taipei, Jakarta, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Manila, Seoul, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City.

CRUISE BOOKINGS & PAYMENT ENQUIRIES

Are cruise bookings open to all travellers?

  • Yes, cruise bookings are open to all travellers, subject to any current travel restrictions or requirements set by the homeport or country of origin of the traveller.
  • We encourage guests to check local travel guidelines before booking to ensure a smooth journey.

What are the requirements to board a cruise under the StarCruises and Dream Cruises?

  • All cruising guests must present their original passport, with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of return. Additionally, any applicable travel documents or visas required for the itinerary should be brought along.
  • We strongly encourage guests to purchase their own travel insurance to ensure a safe and hassle-free journey.

What cabin categories are available for bookings on the StarDream Cruises cruise ships?

  • Guests may choose a variety of accommodations that include Interior, Oceanview, Balcony / Balcony Deluxe and Palace Suites. 

Are the port charges and gratuities included in the cruise fare? How much and when is payment made?

  • Port charges and gratuities are not included in the cruise fare. Port charges are paid in advance, alongside the cruise fare. Infants under the age of 2 are exempt from gratuities, while children aged 2 and above will incur the applicable charges.
  • Gratuities are paid onboard, at check-out on the last day of the cruise.

Will StarDream Cruises implement any fuel surcharge due to the current geopolitical situation in the Middle East?

As oil prices have risen significantly due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, StarDream Cruises will apply a fuel surcharge to new bookings made on or after 20 March 2026.

• Surcharges are determined by each ship and itinerary and may change if fuel prices fluctuate. The surcharge will be reviewed with fuel price changes and may be adjusted downward or revised for new bookings as needed.

• The total will be automatically added to your onboard account for settlement prior to disembarkation.


i)Genting Dream - Singapore / Port Klang / Melaka Departures: SGD 15* per guest, per night

ii)Star Voyager - Hong Kong Departures HKD 200* per guest, per night ; Singapore & Port Klang Departures: SGD 15* per guest, per night

iii)Star Navigator - Keelung Departures: NTD 600* per guest, per night


*Applicable for guests aged 2 years and above.

Can travellers embark on one-way cruises from selected port?

Yes, but it’s only available for selected sailing departure dates.

If there is a change / cancelation of itinerary, how far in advance will StarCruises notify guests of the change / cancellation?

Guests will be notified as soon as possible in the event of any changes or cancellations to the itinerary. We aim to provide timely updates to ensure a smooth travel experience.

What are the available options if there is a change in itinerary or cancellation of a destination cruise prior to the departure date?

In the event of a change or cancellation, guests will receive a Guest Notification in advance, outlining the available options based on the nature of the change or cancellation.

Is online check-in mandatory for guests?

  • Yes, Online check-in is mandatory for all guests. After receiving your Booking Reservation, please proceed with the required, where you can input your details accurately.

Note: Online check-in closes 48 hours before departure, so be sure to complete it in advance.

Can I change my check in timing online?

Guests are required to follow the designated check-in timing. Priority will be given to those who arrive at the terminal within their assigned timing to help minimize congestion and ensure a smooth check-in process.

What is the main currency used on the cruise ships, and what types of payments are accepted onboard?

The main currency used onboard depends on the ship and homeport. The following payment methods are accepted:

Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards, onboard account charging, and cash (in the respective currencies).

Can I pay with cash onboard?

Cash payment is accepted at the Reception Counter at any time. For restaurants and retail shops, cash payments are only accepted from 2 hours before the ship’s return to the original homeport.

Is WiFi service available on the cruise ships under StarDream Cruises?

  • Yes, WiFi service is available on the StarCruises and Dream Cruises ships, with applicable charges. Guests can stay connected while enjoying their voyage.

Do StarCruises and Dream Cruises under StarDream Cruises offer certified Halal or other special dietary options?

  • Selected ships offer certified Halal options and are certified as OIC/SMIIC* Standard Halal-Friendly Cruise Ships, catering to regional Muslim travelers.
  • Certified Vegetarian and Jain cuisine is also available, especially for travelers from India or those preferring specialized vegetarian meals.

SAFETY & PREVENTIVE MEASURES ENQUIRIES

What safety briefings are conducted on board?

Your safety is our top priority. All guests must attend a mandatory safety drill before departure. This briefing covers:

  • Your assigned muster station (also printed on your key card and stateroom door).
  • Location of life jackets.
  • What to do in an emergency.
  • You can also find safety info on your cabin TV.

Are ships equipped for medical and safety emergencies?

Absolutely. Our ships meet strict safety standards and are fully prepared for any situation:


  • Trained medical staff (qualified doctors and nurses) and a fully equipped medical center on board.
  • Life jackets for all passengers (including kids), available in cabins and at muster stations.
  • Lifeboats with more than enough capacity.
  • Emergency-trained crew follow strict safety protocols.
  • Feeling unwell? Contact the onboard medical team immediately.

What should I do during an emergency?

  • Follow instructions from the Captain and crew.
  • Head directly to your muster station.
  • If in your cabin, bring your life jacket and ensure children are with you.
  • The crew will guide you every step of the way.

Is smoking or vaping allowed on the ship?

  • Vaping: E-cigarettes are banned in Singapore; guests embarking and disembarking from Singapore are strictly prohibited from bringing them onboard. Guests embarking from other ports where e-cigarettes are not banned may bring them onboard.
  • Smoking / Vaping: Permitted only in designated areas, including certain outdoor decks and private balconies. Please use provided ashtrays - discarding cigarettes overboard is strictly forbidden.
  • Non-Smoking Areas: All indoor spaces (including public areas, lounges, corridors, restaurants, staterooms and suites) are non-smoking.
  • Important: A deep cleaning fee will be charged if smoke is detected in non-smoking areas.
  • Reminder: Always follow onboard signage for smoking guidelines.

Can I use candles or incense?

For fire safety, candles, incense, or similar items are strictly prohibited on board.

What items are not allowed on the ship?

For everyone’s safety, these items are strictly prohibited:

  • Weapons: Firearms (real or replica), BB/pellet guns, ammunition / Crossbows, arrows, batons, stun devices
  • Flammables & Explosives: Fireworks, flares, incense, candles; Compressed gas tanks (e.g., dive tanks, propane)
  • Sharp Objects: Including but Not limited to knives, throwing stars, spear guns, open razors.
  • Heating Devices: Items containing any kind of heating element, such as but not limited to, immersion heaters, heating blankets, flat irons, hair dryer, hair curler/ straightener, extension cords, water heaters, coffee machines with heating / hot plates, etc.
  • Drugs & Chemicals: Illegal drugs; Tear gas, mace, disabling chemicals
  • Other Prohibited Items: Drones, hoverboards, Scooters (including luggage scooters), Segways, large batteries; Laser pointers, ham radios, satellite phones; Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) and other emergency signaling devices
  • Any item that may pose a risk to passengers or crew is not allowed.

Are there surveillance systems on board?

Yes! All StarDream Cruises ships are equipped with surveillance systems to help ensure the safety and security of everyone on board.

  • Be cautious when disembarking at ports—carry only what you need.
  • Always keep a close eye on your belongings.
